  • An accident caused loose teeth
  • You have bleeding from the mouth
  • You have swelling in the mouth or facial area
  • You are experiencing swelling, knots or bulges on your gums

If you experience any of the above symptoms call Carolina Dental Care immediately at 8433-756-CARE (2273)

Temporary Crown Comes Off

Temporary crowns are just that – temporary. A temporary crown can come loose or come out but this is usually not an emergency. If you do feel a temporary crown is loose or has come out, be careful not to swallow it. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to clear the area of any debris. The temporary crown can then be set back in place using Vaseline, toothpaste, or a very small amount of denture adhesive placed into the crown to put it back in place and to hold it there until you can see a dentist. Give us a call with any questions, and we will gladly help you with a loose temporary crown. Schedule your appointment within a few days after it has come loose so it can be properly re-cemented. If we already have you on the phone, we will set this appointment for you.

A Chipped or Fractured Tooth

A chipped tooth that does not hurt and is not bleeding can sometimes wait a few days before seeing a dentist. Give us a call, and we can advise you if immediate attention is necessary.

You should not delay seeking emergency dental care if a cracked tooth is more than superficial. A fractured tooth is serious and needs immediate emergency dental treatment to save the tooth.

After your accident and before you come to the office, rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area. If you can find any or all of the chipped pieces, clean them and bring them with you to your appointment. It may be possible to repair your chipped tooth with the natural pieces. Call 843-756-2273 as soon as  possible for an emergency dental appointment or visit our main website.
